About Us

Bear Care day nurseries, located in Nottinghamshire at Arnold, Carlton and Stapleford, have been a family run business for over 30 years. Originally established in 1984, we have grown and developed to cater for the numerous changes in the child care field. We pride ourselves in offering children time and space to explore, experiment and develop at their own pace by giving them a range of experiences to promote language development, reading, writing and numeracy skills. We encourage children to take the opportunity to make new friends and learn the social and educational skills they need to draw upon in later life.

All four of our nurseries are easily accessible and conveniently open from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. We cater for children aged 3 months to 11 years. The nurseries are organized into sections that accommodate the individual needs of the children. We have areas caring for babies, young toddlers, older toddlers, pre-school and our out-of-school club.

At Bear Care we work in partnership with parents and carers on making the transition for parents returning to work, and children starting nursery, as smooth as possible. Our fully qualified and experienced staff are always willing to listen and give time and advice. After all, working together will lead to us becoming an even better childcare provider.

We believe that we maintain the very highest standard of daycare and pre-school education and always aim to promote an inspired, creative and caring environment. If you would like to look around or want any further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Our Room Leaders are all NVQ3 Qualified or above.

Our Nursery Nurses have or are working towards NVQ2 and 3.

We provide in house training for staff up to NVQ3. Staff regularly renew and develop their training, attending courses on paediatric first aid, health & safety, safeguarding, special educational needs and behaviour management.

Age groups

Our nurseries are organised around different age groups of children.

Babies are up to 2 years, younger toddlers/older toddlers up to 3 years and pre-school until children enter full time education.

We also have an out of school club taking children to school in the morning , collecting them in the evening and proving care during school holidays.

Our daily routine allows for play and learning activities to be structured to children’s individual developmental needs.

Every child is allocated a key person who works closely with them, monitoring their development and providing care, ensuring they feel happy, confident and secure. We follow the national standards for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Security

The safety of your child is of paramount importance to us.

All of our entrances have a double entry system and visitors are required to sign in and out.

All of our doors and windows are fitted with security devices and the outdoor play areas are securely fenced.

We have a password system which operates when parents are unable to collect their child and choose to send an alternative member of the family or friend.

This ensures that every child leaves the building safely.

Come & talk to us...

If you would like to arrange a visit please telephone our nursery and we will arrange for a senior member of staff to show you around. Alternatively feel free to pop in at any time you are passing.

Parents of new children are encouraged to make as many free preliminary visits to the nursery as they feel are necessary. You will then be able to talk to the staff about your child and only when you feel confident will we expect you to leave them.

We aim to make the transition for parents returning to work and children starting Nursery as smooth as possible.

It is important that all our parents feel that they can come and talk to us. Just talk to a member of staff if you feel that you have any concerns, however small. We are always willing to listen and give our time and advice.

We all want you and your child to feel happy and secure in an inspired, creative and caring environment.
