Stapleford Day Nursery has a reputation second to none in Nottinghamshire with first class childcare and education. Providing a warm, friendly atmosphere and a wide variety of experiences, means your child will benefit not only from expert physical care by fully trained and experienced staff, but also from a carefully planned programme of activities specially designed to meet the needs of each age group within the Nursery.
Your child will also benefit from the companionship of other children and learn to work, play and co-operate with others beyond the family group.
All children are designated a key person who will work closely with them providing care and support and helping them feel happy, confident and secure.
This key person will monitor your child’s progress and development through observations, and record it in their development file.
The file will be available for you to view at any time so you are fully informed of your child’s achievements as they progress.
The nursery is open from 7:30am to 6:00pm, Monday to Friday.
We provide breakfast until 8:15am, which is usually a selection of toast and/or cereals.
During the morning children have a light snack, which is usually milk or juice and a selection of fresh fruit.
Around 11:30 a two course cooked lunch will be provided.
After lunch our younger children generally need a short nap so we provide individual sleep-mats and blankets, but children do not have to sleep if it’s not part of their usual routine. Fixed cots are provided for babies to sleep whenever they wish.
A sandwich or a hot tea is served at around 3:15pm.
Drinks are provided throughout the day, meals are well planned for nutritional needs and the weekly menu can be found on the Parents Notice Board. We can cater for any special diet your child may require.
Our children also enjoy the benefits of visits to events and attractions in the local community for example libraries, parks, shops and fire stations
Inside, Stapleford is split over two floors. Downstairs are the babies. Our special baby unit offers a variety of stimulating toys over two adjoining rooms which can be separated for carpet play, quiet time or sleep and messy play or meal times. This space allows babies to explore safely. We also have a ‘sensory room’ which focuses on feel, vision and sound. It has interactive activities designed to stimulate learning and promote choice.
Outside, Stapleford has a large playground with soft surface and artificial grass. This extensive space allows children to play feely and safely with outdoor equipment including bikes, scooters, see saws and games. This area has recently been covered with a purpose built canopy, so that children can be involved in outdoor activities whatever the weather. It allows for sand, water, painting activities, parachute games and summertime picnics.
Upstairs is home for 3 – 5 year olds and out-of-school club. The four rooms offer plenty of space for quiet, messy and imaginative play, so there is something for everyone. Rooms can be divided so that children at different stages of development have their own spaces. All children have frequent access to a computer, the language and literacy room and play is in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
Upstairs is also home to our ball pool. Here you will find a two level soft play area with a slide, a car wash, spaces to climb and hide and of course a ball pit to plunge into.
If you would like to arrange a visit please call 0115 966 6123 and we will arrange for a senior member of staff to show you around. Alternatively feel free to pop in at any time you are passing.
